Like Apex Construct, it feels more like a full game than some of the more self-contained titles on this list, and clearly takes some inspiration from the Zelda series: You roam a fantasy world with sword and shield in hand, slicing down enemies and gaining god-like powers to solve puzzles along the way. It’s easy to see why Meta uses this to showcase what VR. You get it for free with the headset if you buy it new from Meta’s store. Journey of the Gods is one of the few games on this list that has yet to be released on any other platform, but I got a chance to try this game during the Quest’s press preview. Beat Saber is probably the flagship game for Meta Quest 2. Considering its competition, that’s a pretty compelling concept for only $19.99. You’ll collect items, upgrade your gear, and dispatch spider-like robots that shoot energy blasts. ![]() ![]() Equal parts exploration and frantic bow-and-arrow combat, Apex Construct tells a five hour story through a series of missions set in six different post-apocalyptic environments. If you’re unsatisfied by the “arcade-y” nature of many VR games, sink your teeth into Apex Construct ( no relation to Apex Legends). ![]()
